Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammaplasty, is a procedure to remove excess breast fat, glandular tissue, and skin to achieve a breast size in proportion with your body and to alleviate the discomfort associated with overly large breasts.
The breast reduction surgery is usually performed under epidural anesthesia and takes approximately 2-4 hours, generally absorbable stitches are used, this means that the sutures will not be removed. The patient needs to rest for 2-3 weeks thereafter she can return to her daily activities with very satisfactory results.
