Ear Surgery
Service Description
The surgery to correct prominent (bat) ears can be performed as of the 6 years of age, thus preventing the child or adolescent from experiencing constraints that inhibit socialization.
Surgery is performed under local anesthesia and sedation and discharge happens a few hours after the procedure. An incision is made behind the ear, through which surgery is performed. The scar is, therefore, hidden in a natural skin fold (groove) and cannot be seen.
The continuous use of a large elastic band is necessary during the first week and for another 15 days only during the night.
