The pre-operative assessment is an opportunity to identify co-morbidities that may lead to patient complications during the anaesthetic, surgical, or post-operative period.
Patients scheduled for elective procedures will generally attend a pre-operative assessment 2-4 weeks before their date of surgery.

Cardiovascular disease includes physical examination, anamnesis and Surgical stress sessment. In patients at higher risk it is necessary to do some complementary explorations in order to establish the need to apply a specific therapeutic strategy for each patient, which could suffer morbidity and mortality.
